Become a volunteer!
Our strong volunteer program is one of the things we are most proud of, and it is one of our greatest assets. Our volunteers are a vital part of the work we do to put on our mainstage productions, make 30 Days of Opera possible, and provide the kind of help that keeps our office running. No matter what skill set you have, we can use it at Opera Memphis!
Named for the Florentine Camerata - the 16th century think-tank that originated opera as we know it - Camerata is a group of young professionals, artists, and the opera-curious, who keep us pointed firmly toward the future. Camerata members enjoy two-for-one tickets to all of our performances, members-only networking opportunities, and more!
Audition for our chorus!
Opera Memphis boasts one of the finest professional choruses anywhere! Members of our chorus participate in most of our mainstage productions, several of our Midtown Opera Festival productions, and various outreach activities each season. We audition for the chorus each Spring and as needed throughout the season.
Travel with us!
Opera Memphis and our travel partner, Air Sea Travel, curate yearly trips to prominent summer opera festivals, such as Santa Fe Opera and Glimmerglass Opera. Travelers enjoy opportunities to see several operas, exclusive backstage access, gallery tours, gracious receptions, delicious meals, and beautiful accommodations. Opera Memphis' General Director, Ned Canty, and Director of Operations, Sarah Squire, regularly accompany the group.
Try some kid stuff!
Opera Memphis' educational programs are some of our longest running community projects. Whether its an opera in your child's school, a field trip to one of our dress rehearsals, attendance at our summer conservatory, or just an enjoyable family outing to one of our 30 Days of Opera performances, we have a way to get your child excited about the arts!
