A Mozart Piano Competition

With all of Mozart’s famous piano works, Opera Memphis could not think of a better composer to showcase for its second annual piano competition. This October Opera Memphis is holding a Mozart Piano Competition in conjunction with their October production of COSI FAN TUTTE. This competition will be held at the Clark Opera Memphis Center October 9 and 10. All applications and audition cds must be postmarked by Sept. 25th, 2009. All participants chosen for the live competition will be notified by Sept. 30th. Please note that the application form for this competition is available to download here!
Every applicant will receive a single ticket to the November 3rd performance of COSI FAN TUTTE at the Germantown Performing Arts Centre. In addition, six cash awards will be given and select winners will have the opportunity to perform in the lobby of the Germantown Performing Arts Center during the opening night of COSI FAN TUTTE on October 31, 2009, the lobby of the Cannon Center before the October 17th, 2009 Memphis Symphony concert, and other venues.
Lane Music, located at 9309 Poplar Ave #101 Germantown TN, 38138, has graciously been stocking their store with Mozart piano music, and has donated the use of their recording studio at the store to all applicants of this competition. If applicants wish to make their recording at Lane Music, they are asked to bring a single blank cd with them.
