All Ben wants is to propose to his girlfriend, Lucy, before he heads out of town. When he goes to her apartment to pop the question, though, he gets interrupted by a constant stream of phone conversations. Sound familiar?

Written in 1947, this charming 20-minute opera is more relevant now than its composer could ever have imagined.

30 Days of Opera?

Opera Memphis' 30 Days of Opera returns September 1-30, 2018. This annual event features dozens of TOTALLY FREE opera performances across Memphis and the MidSouth, turning the opera house inside out and taking the music to you! This year will include performances at the Cooper-Young Festival, Germantown Festival, South Main Trolley Night, the Memphis Farmers Market, and many more!
