Opera Memphis is looking for Mid-South singers of all levels and abilities for its upcoming season. Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the time a production begins.

Thursday, August 20, 2026 (4:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
Auditions are by appointment only.
How to Apply
You must fill out this form in its entirety before securing an audition slot. Audition appointment notifications will go out within 5 days of receipt of a completed audition form.

*If you wish to be considered for the chorus of Rigoletto, you must audition with the Memphis Symphony Chorus on August 17, 2026. To reserve an audition time, please use the contact form.
Things to Know for the Audition
Auditions will be held at the Opera Memphis Headquarters (216 Cooper Street, Memphis, TN 38104).
Prepare and memorize two (2) contrasting songs (aria, art song, or classical musical theatre song), but we may only hear one.
If you are auditioning only for The Pirates of Penzance, then both songs may be in English.
For all other auditions, prepare one song in English and one in another language.
For principal or comprimario role auditions only, please bring your resume and list of selections. If you do not have a resume, a space will be provided on the application for you to list your previous experience.
An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music. If you prefer, you may bring your own accompanist.
Chorus auditions are open to individuals aged 18 and above. If you will be 18 by the time of a production, you are eligible.
