About Opera Memphis

Since 1956, Opera Memphis has brought world-class opera to the Mid-South with a distinctly local twist. We believe opera should be as comfortable in a park or library as it is on a stage. From our “30 Days of Opera” pop-ups to full mainstage productions, we are 100% opera and 100% Memphis.

We are proud to be a community-centered, artist-driven organization rooted in musical excellence, storytelling, and access for all. Our team is passionate about making opera welcoming, exciting, and relevant—whether that’s through new works, student performances, or simply opening our doors to the neighborhood.
